ABOUT ME
Paloma García Martens (elle/iel) has been working in the film industry since 2009, first as a dresser on Belgian and international productions, then as an actress and now as a certified intimacy coordinator.
Trained by several North American organizations (Principal Intimacy Professionals, IDC, TIE), she obtained her certification from Principal Intimacy Professionals (CA) in 2024, and continues to pursue ongoing training.
She has learned from over 25 projects, from Cédric Klapisch's period film La Venue de l'Avenir, to the American blockbuster Subservience starring Megan Fox and Michele Morrone, to queer and feminist series like Iris Brey's Split, or Marie Chauderlot's short film Baisse Les Yeux, nominated for a Magritte 2025 award. Her collaboration with Iris Brey is documented in Sex is Comedy: La Révolution des Coordinatrices d'Intimité, a documentary by Édith Chapin available on FranceTV Slash.
Certified by Principal Intimacy Professionals (CA) in 2024, Paloma is in constant training. Her models include Rachel Flesher, Mia Schachter, Chels Morgan, Amanda Cutting and Chelsea Pace. Her work is inspired by adrienne maree brown, Iris Brey, bell hooks, Kai Cheng Thom, Brené Brown and Tema Okun, among many others.
Iel regularly gives workshops on the staging of intimacy to theater and film students with her colleagues Monia Aït El Hadj and Nathalie Allison. The Commission Paritaire Nationale Emploi Formation de l'Audiovisuel (FR), the Commission Supérieure Technique de d'Image et du Son (FR) and the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ES) trust her to train future intimacy coordinators.
As part of her activism, she regularly collaborates with the Association des Acteur-ices (ADA), the 50/50 collective and Elles* Font Des Films.
In May 2024, she was interviewed as an expert by the first Commission d'Enquête Relative aux Violences Commises dans les Secteurs du Cinéma, de l'Audiovisuel, du Spectacle vivant, de la Mode et de la Publicité of the French National Assembly, chaired by Erwan Balanant.
Paloma loves cinema so much that she's made it her mission to make it better. Fairer, less dangerous, and a beacon of hope for a changing society.
Iel is also a member of several militant groups such as Elles Font des Films*, Collectif 50/50 and Association des Acteur-ices (ADA).
Paloma lives in Brussels with her family. When she's not on set or in the studio, she reads Claude Ponti to her child and dreams of setting up a library in an Art Nouveau greenhouse, full of lush plants and antique furniture.
